A Pop of Indie is Michigan’s only traveling book fair, powered entirely by local, independently published children’s authors. We partner with elementary schools across the state to bring engaging literacy experiences to students and families. From in-school author visits to community-centered family literacy nights where kids meet real authors, join interactive workshops, and discover the joy of storytelling.

Our mission is to spark creativity, build community around reading, and help kids see themselves as storytellers. With more than 130 children’s books, from heartwarming picture books to engaging middle-grade adventures, our collection celebrates diverse voices and local stories written and published by Michigan authors. Every book is thoughtfully chosen to inspire imagination, nurture a love of reading, and connect kids with the magic of storytelling.
